This milestone marked a significant improvement in the management of craniofacial defects using bone-anchored craniofacial prostheses (\u201cepistheses\u201d). Since then, numerous efforts have been made to improve the applicability and outcomes in challenging anatomical situations. One result of this evolutionary process was the development of the Epiplating system by Medicon eG in collaboration with Prof. P. Federspil, Ph. A. Federspil, and M. Schneider. It essentially consists of titanium miniplates adapted to the needs of anaplastology. Over more than 15 years, the Epiplating system has proven to be highly versatile, allowing implants to be placed in (almost) all defects.     \n\n\u00a0\n\nThe aim of this course is to provide a very practical insight into the Epiplating system. To make the course as interactive as possible, we have limited the number of participants. Surgical approaches and implantation will be demonstrated in the Department of Anatomy. In addition, you will assist with live surgical cases in the OR alongside the surgeon.
