The employees of Medicon eG and its business partners may not participate in covert tenders, price fixing, price discrimination or other unfair trade practices.

Medicon eG and its business partners ensure the correct communication of their products and services. All regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the marketing and sale of Medicon products and services must be complied with.
Fair treatment of employees and business partners
Medicon eG and its business partners treat employees and business partners fairly, and do not take unfair advantage of anyone through manipulation, concealment, or abuse of privileged information, misrepresentation of material facts, or any other unfair-dealing or unfair-practices.

Medicon eG and its business partners are responsible for ensuring that all assets, liabilities, revenues, expenditures and transactions are properly and accurately recorded in the books and records of the respective company. These records are kept in accordance with the relevant legal provisions, recognized accounting principles and the company's financial guidelines and procedures.
Competition law
Medicon eG and its business partners work in accordance with the applicable competition laws in the respective market. Abuse of a dominant market position, price-influencing agreements or arrangements between business partners in accordance with competition law will not be tolerated.
Protection against counterfeiting
Medicon eG and its business partners develop and establish methods and processes for the products of Medicon eG, which reduce the risk of using counterfeit components and materials.
Business integrity / Combating corruption
Medicon eG and its business partners explicitly refrain from any form of corruption, extortion and/or embezzlement. International and national anti-corruption regulations must not be violated.
Bribes – in whatever form – must not be offered, accepted or tolerated by any of the above parties in order to gain an unfair business advantage.
Invitations / gifts
Medicon eG and its business partners are prohibited from offering, promising or granting personal advantages to business partners if the aim is to influence procurement decisions. Similarly, personal advantages from employees and executives of Medicon eG must not be requested or accepted if this could be intended to exert undue influence.
Preventing conflicts of interest
Medicon eG and its business partners are expected to make decisions based on objective criteria only. All factors that could influence the opinion of a business partner due to private, business or other conflicts of interest must be disclosed – or better yet – avoided from the outset.
Conducting and supporting events for healthcare professionals
For healthcare professionals, the costs of attending educational events as delegates or lecturers can be funded, provided that this is done in accordance with local professional codes of conduct, laws and regulations.
Prohibited Payments
Medicon eG and its business partners shall not make any prohibited payments to any government or non-government officials, employees, customers, natural or legal persons, nor shall they request or accept any prohibited payments from suppliers, customers or any other person seeking to do business with them.
Neither Medicon eG nor its business partners will offer, promise, provide, request or accept, directly or indirectly, bribes or kickbacks of any kind, whether in dealings with public or government officials (including professionals and health care workers) or with other private sector entities or persons.
Medicon eG and its business partners must comply with the anti-corruption and anti-money laundering laws of the countries in which they do business, as well as all other applicable prohibitions regarding any kind of bribery, improper discounts or other corrupt practices and all successor or superseding statutes, laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, and to the extent applicable, the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the United Kingdom Bribery Act of 2010.
Child labor
The use of child labor is prohibited for Medicon eG and its business partners. The minimum age for employment relationships is to be adhered to in accordance with international requirements (see ILO). All applicable child labor laws must be complied with.
Forced labor, involuntary labor and human trafficking
Medicon eG and its business partners do not support, promote or use forced labor, slavery, involuntary labor or human trafficking of any kind.
Immigration laws and proper documentation
Medicon eG and its business partners may only employ or use the services of employees who are legally entitled to work in the country in which Medicon or its business partners intend to employ these employees.
Medicon eG and its business partners check suitable and relevant documents and the legal status of potential employees before they are employed.
Prohibition of discrimination
Medicon eG and its business partners ensure that human dignity and respect are maintained.
They may not discriminate or support or tolerate discrimination in the workplace or in any business transaction on the basis of race, skin color, gender, age, religion, marital status, caste, social origin, disability, pregnancy, ethnic or national origin, military service, nationality, sexuality, gender identity or any other personal characteristics or on the basis of a status protected by applicable law.
Prohibition of intimidation, harassment or abuse
Medicon eG and its business partners refrain from and prevent intimidation, harassment or abuse of any person.
Wage and salary payments
Medicon eG and its business partners calculate wages and salaries at least on the basis of the applicable laws and pay them on time.
All applicable wage and working time laws and regulations must be complied with,
including those relating to minimum wages, overtime, piecework wages and correct classification.
Prohibition of salary deductions
Medicon eG and its business partners do not make any unauthorized, legally unsupported salary deductions. Misusing salary deductions as a disciplinary measure is not permitted.

It is the aim of Medicon eG and its business partners to minimize, or preferably avoid, risks of accidents and damage to health arising in connection with work.
Infrastructure security
Medicon and its business partners ensure that appropriate security is provided in their facilities at all times. We expect that employees of business partners will comply with the security procedures when they are in Medicon eG facilities.
Medicon eG and its business partners comply with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, ordinances, rules, permits, approvals and orders relating to the environment and the use of substances.
All required environmental permits, licenses, registrations and approvals, as well as all operational reporting requirements, as required by the laws, regulations, standards, ordinances, etc. of the country in which the facility is located, must be followed.
These requirements apply, but are not limited to, procurement, production, distribution, disposal, energy consumption and emissions within the business processes of Medicon eG and its business partners.

Medicon eG and its business partners comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations regarding waste, hazardous or toxic substances, chemicals in products, which are regulated by the governments and other authorities in the
countries/regions in which they are used.

If they do, they establish due diligence processes in the supply chain to identify the sources of these minerals and support efforts to eliminate the use of conflict minerals that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in countries identified in conflict minerals laws or regulations.
Medicon eG and its business partners require employees to record all information on business processes accurately and honestly.
No employees will sign or submit any documents or statements that they have reason to believe are false.
All records and reports must be created, stored and destroyed in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Medicon and its business partners encourage employees to seek advice from the management of Medicon and its representatives (authorized officers) or the management or responsible contact persons if they have any uncertainties, ambiguities or doubts regarding the application of these guidelines.
Medicon and its business partners encourage employees to report violations of these guidelines to the responsible confidential advisors within the company. In this way, protection is provided for any employees who report violations of the guidelines in good faith or investigate such a process. Medicon and its business partners will not issue warnings or impose any other form of punishment on employees who report violations of the guidelines in good faith or who cooperate in the investigation of such a report.
