Anchorage has always played an important role in orthodontic treatment. A reduced number of teeth or periodontium presented an unbridgeable problem and the acting forces on the reactive unit generated intolerable side effects like undesired tooth movements. Esprecially in the case of adult patients, the conventional methods had to face many difficulties. The „Aarhus Mini-Implant System“ is easily inserted. It may be charged immediately after insertion, following the biomechanical principles described in this brochure. The anchorage system provides the orthodontist with a tool which enables him to perform “impossible” tooth movements, especially in adult patients with dental degeneration.
