Fibular transplants can be used when performing surgical reconstruction of the mandible after ablative resection or partial resection. In order to remove these transplants from the Fibula in a quick and safe manner the Hakim designed Fibula Raspatory is utilized.
- The distal end of the instrument can be used as a raspatory
- The surgeon can directly encompass the fibula at the site of osteotomy without the need for additional tools
- The attached “wing” allows the fibula muscle to be held away, which is directly lateral to the osteotomy site. This significantly improves the surgeon’s view of the surgical site.
- Because of its unique features the “Fibula Raspatory” can replace the assistant during surgery
